Want greater prospects and a secure life? Start planning now towards a bright future!

IT is never too soon for school students to think ahead for career pathways because the earlier they start, the better their end result (life) would be.

However, it is best for students to navigate the shift from secondary school to college or university first before they start strategising for careers and jobs that can secure a bright future full of prospects.

The transition from school to unfamiliar territory would be a daunting task for the majority of young students.

But, it does not need to be if they receive proper guidance, advice and an abundance of knowledge from education experts and highly qualified counsellors at the Malaysia Education Fair 2022.

The fair will be held at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Bayan Lepas, Penang from 16th to 17th July 2022, 11am to 6pm daily.

A wide array of institutions that range from local to internationally reputed institutions from as far as Ireland, the United States, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Australia and many more  will be available at the fair for easy access to students and parents to research on pre-university programmes, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate as well as professional and vocational courses.

Education and Career Talks will give students and parents an opportunity to hear the latest on current programmes and majors that are being offered while you are in the process of searching for colleges or universities, this is a great place to learn more about the courses provided by institutions you’re interested in, narrow down options, as well as talk to people with first-hand experience.

Students will also gain personalised information and most importantly, discover extensive information on scholarships, financial assistance, bursaries and discounts on tuition fees.

Here are some useful questions to ask education specialists:

1/ What are the requirements to enrol into the institution?

2/ What is the culture there like?

3/ How are the courses structured?

4/ What kind of scholarships/financial assistance/bursaries/discounts are available?

5/ What do students like most about the institution? What is the biggest complaint from students?

6/ What is the living arrangement? Do students mostly live on or off campus? Where do students hang out on campus?

7/ What academic programs are the most popular? What programme is most valuable for the future job market?

8/ Do admission officers make decisions solely on numbers and stats, or do extracurricular activities truly matter at your school?

9/ How would you describe the academic pressure and workload?

10/ Does the institution have a good career planning department? How does your career planning department compare to other institutions?

11/ Are there internships available specific to my major? Is there job placement help for graduates?
