About this course
QIU is a private comprehensive research-led University established in 2008 in collaboration with the state government of Perak with the goal of becoming an international educational hub. Subsequently a state-of-the-art Medical Faculty was established in Ipoh to cater for the medical programme which had its inaugural intake in 2012.
The MBBS programme at QIU follows an Integrated Hybrid Problem-Based Learning Curriculum. The 5-year MBBS curriculum consists of two contiguous phases: Phase I (Years 1 & 2) and Phase II (Years 3 to 5). In Phase I, the emphasis is on basic sciences with early clinical exposure, while Phase II focuses on the clinical sciences integrated with the applied aspects of basic and laboratory sciences.
