About this course

Our Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Hons) incorporates introductory and advanced curriculum courses, strong social justice and leadership focus and placement experiences in early childhood settings that exceed minimum requirements. The degree is offered in competent educators in Malaysia, the region and beyond.

You will study specialist courses in early childhood education in development, complemented by generalist courses in education and professional studies,as well as elective courses of study in the social sciences and humanities offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences.

As a graduate, you will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to become an outstanding early childhood educator, professional decision maker, ethical leader and theoretical, practical and critical thinker.

Upon completion of the programme, graduates are competent in:

  • developing and delivery of pre-school curriculum
  • developing innovative strategies to engage children with families in learning
  • advocating for children and families
  • continuing their professional development learning journey by practicing as reflective professionals

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Hons) recognises prior learning and knowledge acquired by granting advanced standing into the progrmme.

Entry RequirementsApplicants must have one of the following Entry requirements:

Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) Pass with at least Grade C (GPA 2.00)  in two (2) subjects
Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) Pass with a minimum grade “Jayyid
A-Level Pass with at least in two (2) subjects
Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) or equivalent Pass with a minimum grade B in five (5) subjects
Foundation  / Matriculation Minimum CGPA 2.00
International Baccalaureate (IB) Pass with a minimum total points of 24
South Australian Matriculation (SAM) / Australian Matriculation Programme (AUSMAT) Pass with a minimum scores of 60%
Canadian Pre-University (CPU) Pass with a minimum scores of 50%
Diploma Minimum CGPA 2.00
Other Qualifications Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government
