Technological advancements and digital competency are becoming increasingly important. The workforce must therefore be equipped with the right mix of technical know-how and soft skills to stay relevant and competitive. They must be exposed to a broader suite of skills to meet the new demands of the real working environment.
WOU’s latest tagline ‘Think Tomorrow’ is a reflection of its focus in equipping students and the workforce with all the pertinent skills. It seeks to provide a versatile education that keeps pace with the ongoing technological advancements happening in the world.
With its emphasis on lifelong learning, the University aims to produce future-ready talents for the workforce. It updates course contents, adopts new learning platforms and integrates knowledge from different disciplines so as to develop an education curriculum that prepares students for the future of work. WOU was established in 2006 to deliver quality higher education via open distance learning (ODL) to working adults. The University has since expanded to also offer on-campus learning for school leavers and diploma holders at its main campus in Penang.
All WOU programmes are approved by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE)
