About this course

Global economic development play a crucial role in driving activity and financial markets in multinational organisations. Globalisation creates growing businesses, trade, investments as well as economic activities and opportunities among countries.

These international economic opportunities between countries are intertwined and can affect other countries positively or negatively. Global economics is a new and recent field in economics whereby economic behaviours and decisions are strategically analysed and explained.

The UTAR Bachelor of Economics (Honours) Global Economics Programme aims at examining the workings of the economics in the global environmental context. Students of this programme will be equipped with the analytical skills and strategic knowledge in discussing world economic issues, international trade trends and global investment opportunities. These knowledge and skills are highly sought after by organisations especially multinational companies involving in global trade and investment.

Entry RequirementsApplicants must have one of the following Entry requirements:

  • STPM with 2 Grade C

  • South Australian Matriculation (SAM) with an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in 2 subjects

  • Canadian Pre-University (CPU) with an average of 70% in 6 subjects
