Universities are powerful institutions; they play a key role in our driving economic and social development through both the provision of education and through the process of research, innovation and knowledge transfer. At the University of Nottingham we are committed to the provision of an excellent educational experience in a campus environment led by academic staff who are themselves leading research that will address some of the major challenges confronting our global society.
Consistently ranked in the top 100 Universities worldwide, we offer a range of study opportunities for students from foundation level courses through to doctoral degrees. A broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are available from different specialist schools and departments across the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Engineering and Science. We host a community of around 5000 students from over 85 different countries worldwide who work with and receive a world-class higher education experience from leading academics in their field. The campus provides excellent teaching, learning and research facilities including a well equipped library, dedicated study areas and computer, language, and science and engineering laboratories.
All of our students have access to a great range of leisure and well-being facilities including a purpose built sports complex and a superb swimming pool. There are also numerous student societies and clubs and a very active Student Association.
Alongside our study programmes, our academic staff are undertaking a range of research activity in partnership with both public and private sectors in Malaysia and world-wide. We work in areas of direct relevance to Malaysia and the region and build on the distinctive strengths and expertise of the University of Nottingham. Our research priorities include renewable energy, drug discovery, nanotechnology, sustainable crops, post harvest technologies, communications and cultures, and business productivity and innovation.
Whether you are an existing or potential student, parent, teacher or local employer, please do not hesitate to get in touch. My colleagues and I are very proud of the University of Nottingham Malaysia and we would be delighted to talk to you or show around.

Faculty Highlights
It is often said that we are in unprecented times. Over two decades ago, the sociologist Anthony Giddens called this the ‘runaway world’, characterised by rapid and often unpredictable social, economic, technological and political change.
The recent pandemic, and the major global economic shocks before it, show how interconnected and interdependent we are. But such events also invite us to ask pressing questions about the world we want to live in. How can societies and institutions best be managed to maximise their human, spiritual and productive potential? How can linguistic, cultural or political divisions be overcome? What challenges and opportunities do the present and coming technological advances mean for how we work?
My colleagues, our students, graduates and our partners, put these questions at the heart of our teaching and research. This is what makes the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences one of the most dynamic and innovative centres in South East Asia.
You’ll find a Faculty home to inspirational and skilled teachers, from across the globe and with access to high-profile, international research, policy and practice networks. They are passionate about their subjects and dedicated towards developing our students to become critically minded, articulate and global citizens.
You’ll be part of a global community. Our campus works closely with our sister schools in the UK and China, offering our students a unique international educational experience. All of our courses are taught in English and the degrees we award are exactly the same as those in the UK. Students benefit from developing the skills, knowledge and experience required of today’s graduates in an increasingly competitive global job market.
I’m very proud to be part of the Faculty and look forward to welcoming you in person at one of our many open days or other events. In the meantime, please do take a look around the website to find out more about the incredible work we’re doing here.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Jason Pandya-Wood, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
The Faculty of Engineering is one of the strongest faculties at the University of Nottingham, with all engineering departments recognised amongst the best in higher education. Here at the Malaysia campus, all of our courses are taught in English and the degrees awarded are exactly the same as those in the UK.
The commitment is to give students the “Nottingham Edge” – an unrivalled combination of quality and excellence, strength and pragmatism, enabled learning, boldness and innovation, respect and tolerance. Graduates with an engineering degree can expect to take up leading roles in well-known global companies and organisations the world over.
It’s impossible to overstate the importance of engineering in our rapidly evolving world. Engineering solutions are all around us – from portable devices, clean water to healthcare products which enable us to live longer and, arguably, better lives. Such innovations and creations require the right people. People who can challenge, people who can create and most of all, people who can apply new knowledge to new products and new processes. All of which you will learn in any of our many engineering courses.
The Faculty of Science is currently comprised of six schools. Each school offers exceptional opportunities for undergraduates, postgraduates and researchers.
We pride ourselves in innovative teaching methods and a commitment to cutting-edge, world-class research. All of our courses are taught in English and the degrees awarded are exactly the same as those in the UK.
Our Foundation courses are pre-university level programmes designed to enhance the study and learning skills essential for undergraduate study.
We run four distinct courses divided by subject. Successful completion of your chosen foundation programme will allow you to progress directly onto your selected undergraduate degree.
