About this course

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) offered by HELP University is a three year course and is designed to equip students with skills and attributes required to be effective and efficient information technology professionals.

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) course has a core of Information Technology (IT) subjects complemented with a selection from a wide range of subjects that includes the latest advances in IT skills, concepts and applications (eg object oriented analysis and design, multimedia, networking, data communications and internet publishing).

We put a premium on instilling students with the expertise and skills to take on the new challenge of a career in IT. Graduates may find employment as computing professionals in both the commercial and technical sectors of the computing industry. Employers might be in manufacturing, commerce, small businesses, financial enterprises, public utilities, education or welfare.

  • HELP Foundation in Arts/ Foundation in Science
  • Recognized Matriculation or Foundation At least CGPA 2.0
  • STPM
    At least 2 Grade C
  • A-Level
    At least 2 passes
  • Senior Middle 3 (UEC)
    At least 5B’s in UEC including Mathematics
  • CPU
    At least 5 with a minimum average of 50%
  • SAM/TEE examination
    At least 5 passes with a university aggregate of 50%
Mathematics / Additional Mathematics Requirements
Applicants must have one of the following Entry requirements:
  • SPM level or equivalent
    A credit in Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
  • Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering or equivalent
  • Any other Diploma
    A minimum CGPA of 2.50
  • Equivalent Qualification
Candidates with CGPA below 2.50 but above 2.00 with a credit in Mathematics / Additional Mathematics** at SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process**A credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM level or equivalent is required for the Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons) Games and Interactive Media.
