Students will be introduced to basic dental science disciplines (oral biology, oral physiology, dental laboratory and prosthetic technology). Students will develop the laboratory skills to fabricate complete dentures, removable partial dentures and orthodontic appliances.
More detailed study of anatomy, physiology, pathology, oral microbiology, oral biology, dental material and prosthetic technology will be taught. Students will develop the laboratory skills to fabricate cast partial dentures, crown and bridge work, simple occlusal splint construction and orthodontics appliances.
Students will be trained with regards to the laboratory aspects of fixed prosthodontics which encompasses crowns and bridges, veneers, inlays & onlays. Students will develop the laboratory skills to fabricate intraoral maxillofacial prosthesis, orthodontic appliances and complex occlusal splints.
